Two major projects are planned for 2009/10
MENTAL HEALTH OF FOREIGN SEAFARERS
A project to increase awareness of depression among foreign seafarers and provide means to recognise, prevent and supply literature to assist in getting help.
This is a unique program not only for Melbourne South but for Rotary International

WATER WELLS, MOSQUITO NETS AND SEED RICE
This project provides the above to the poor of the Kampot region of Cambodia using the Christian Association to Develop and Saving the Poor in Cambodia (CADSPC) This program is the continuation of a program commenced in 2007
50 water wells, 1500 mosquito nets, 8000 kg edible rice and 2000 kg of seed rice have been provided to date

FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT WATER WELLS PROJECT
Friday July 6th 2007 saw the inauguration of the Camodian Water Wells project which is one of the most important international projects Melbourne South Rotary has undertaken. Subsequently $15,000 was provided for 30 water wells in Kampot province south west Cambodia. Another $15,000 was provded by private funding which allowed CADSPC to build another 10 water wells, 16,000 kg of eating rice and 500 mosquito nets.
In 2008 the Club provided $15,000 funding for another 10 water wells, 1000 kg seed rice and 500 mosquito nets
